Creative Chicago Office Interior Design by Runa Novak

This Chicago-based software company contracted with Runa Novak for Chicago office interior design services. The goal was to re-design the space to make it more engaging for the employees.

Before

new moon Overall the Chicago interior lacked personality and any sort of “pop”

new moon The cafeteria space was uninspiring and bland

new moon The staircase/railing was a bad design in the 70’s when it was installed and it hasn’t improved with time

new moon Runa designed, fabricated and installed a new staircase using reclaimed wood and steel

new moon The ceiling was painted in a dark color to show off the flying saucer lights

new moon Runa added random Moooi lights above the staircase to further define the space and to complement the existing lights.

new moon She designed and installed a custom brick and concrete wallpaper for the walls/columns along the windows to give the space an old loft feel.

new moon The large obtrusive TV stand at the top of the stairs was removed

The end result was a very cool rustic/modern space with a playful and engaging feel that resonated with the company’s creative vibe. It is a great example of how well good interior design services can work in the commercial sector as well as in residential projects.
